Welcome to the South Slavic Club web site. Our club, located in Dayton Ohio, represents all the countries that were part of the former Yugoslavia, plus Bulgaria. Anyone, regardless of their background, with an interest in this part of the world, is welcome to attend our functions and become a member.

Our next event is the Spring Kolo at the Czech Club, 922 Valley St, Dayton, Saturday April 18th, 2026. Skimos from Fort Wayne et al will be performing for your dancing and listening pleasure. Plus there will be performances by our very own Zivio dancers as well as Jr. Zivio. Tickets are $15 for adult members, $20 for adult non-members, $10 for kids 13-17 and FREE to kids <13.

The menu isn’t set yet, so the volunteer signups are likewise not yet set. We’re meeting on Feb 28th to hopefully get these details settled.

Serbia is the featured country for A World A’Fair in 2026. As Serbian dances can be quite difficult we are having Serbian dance lessons at the Czech Club every Wednesday in October in 2025 (there are 5 of them!) at 7:30 – 9:00 PM. If you have any interest in performing with Zivio at the AWAF in May of 2026, or if you just want to learn some dances and meet the other dancers please come and join us.

And then in November the Miami Valley Folk Dancers are sponsoring a Croatian dance workshop on November 1-2, 2025 at the Solomon Pavilion in Dayton.
